Devs is a non-profit tech community I co-founded in Riyadh, dedicated to shaping young Saudi developers through practical workshops, intensive bootcamps, and innovative challenges.

I led the initiative and designed the programs inside it. That meant recruiting industry partners, structuring competitions, and running bootcamps across stacks like Flutter, React, Laravel, and Python.

Across two years, dozens of students moved through Devs programs. Some left with new stacks under their belt. Others left with offers from the partner companies they pitched.

The missing search layer for storytelling.

A trope-based media search engine. Sort by the storytelling devices that actually make two works feel alike, not by broad labels like comedy or drama.

Give Salmon a combination of tropes. Found family. Tragic villain. Enemies to lovers. It ranks works by how fully they cover that combination. Partial matches surface too, so the obscure precedent a writer needs does not stay hidden.

Streaming platforms only recommend inside their own libraries. AI chatbots hallucinate titles that do not exist. TVTropes has every trope mapped, but cannot search by trope combinations.

People have asked for multi-trope search for over a decade with no answer. Salmon is that missing search layer.
